Homocysteine (Hcy)
Homocysteine is a non-essential sulfur-containing amino acid that can be broken down and maintained at a low level in the body. Excessive levels of homocysteine can directly or indirectly damage the vascular endothelial cells, promote vascular smooth muscle cell proliferation, enhance platelet function, and cause chronic inflammatory responses.
Indicated for:
Patients with cardiovascular and cerebrovascular diseases.
Patients with hypertension and hyperlipidemia.
Pregnant women.
Women with a history of adverse maternity and childbirth.
Women with a history of homocysteine disease.
People with a family history of genetic variation of homocysteine.
People taking long-term drugs that affect homocysteine metabolism.
